We are all creatures of habits and our habits determine what our outcomes will be. 

 There are times when we react the way we think we want to, but also, the unconscious mind can cause us to react in less conscious ways, especially in situations that appear as something that has hurt us and our feelings.

  • Interrupt your thoughts by (a) being aware of it and (b) asking yourself questions like “Is the thought that I’m thinking right now helping me or harming me?” and “Would the person that I wish to become have a thought process like this?” 
  • Every time you wake up in the morning, ask yourself how you’re choosing to feel for the rest of the day and focus your thoughts towards that way. Be vocal. Say it out loud. 
  • Set an alarm on your phone that goes off every hour then take a snapshot of what you’re thinking in your mind. In a place of no judgment, write everything down and be the observer of your own thoughts. 
  • At the end of the day, sit down and read what you’ve written when you woke up, and start writing out what you have you preferred to have thought instead. 
  • Be the person who chooses your feelings and finally be able to say, “I am responsible and I take accountability for all my emotional responses and for the thoughts that I have.”
